This Sunday the Netley Abbey beach cleaners were out on the shore helping to make the place look great!
The group has been doing great things working on the shore for some time now and it’s really starting to pay off. The area they work in is much cleaner than it was and it adds so much to the enjoyment of the place to see it looking so beautiful.
There was still some rubbish to clear up especially if you looked hard. I was able to find an old fork handle and a plug. Soon the shore was looking spotless. It had been quite a cold afternoon but Jan, the organizer behind the clean ups, made us all welcome and enthused about what we were doing.
The Group is interested in the issue of coastal erosion and is planning to hold a public meeting to discuss this issue more fully.
The Netley Abbey Beach Clean Volunteers are out there on the last Sunday of each month, starting from the end of Beach Lane in Netley (off from Victoria Road). They’re doing great things and we’re looking forward to supporting them in their activities.
