An evening with novelist Diana Jackson

The Friends of Weston Shore were lucky enough to meet novelist Diana Jackson last night for readings from her novels.  A beautiful, if somewhat blowy, summer evening with a picnic, some wine and a bit of culture… what could be better?!

Diana’s novels include Southampton and Weston Shore as settings for her characters and their journey through life and we also discussed Ancasta, the apparent goddess of the River Itchen.  While we were talking a large cruise liner managed to do what looked like a three point turn in the Southampton Waters off the shore from where we were sat.

A great evening and the sort of event that the Friends of Weston Shore would like to run more of.  It was really good to make some new friends and to talk about the area and why it is so special.
